FAQs
What is PantoGlasses?
PantoGlasses is a Norwegian eyewear brand inspired by the original panto shape from the 1930s. Our frames are designed for people who want classic eyewear with character — round, but not fully circular. On pantoglasses.com, you can order frames only, sunglasses, prescription glasses, or prescription sunglasses.
What makes PantoGlasses different?
PantoGlasses focuses on the authentic panto shape: balanced, timeless, and distinctive. Our frames are made for people who want eyewear that stands out without being too loud. The collection includes metal, acetate, rimless, kids, and sunglasses styles, with options for prescription lenses and sun lenses.
Can I buy frames only?
Yes. You can order frames only and have lenses fitted later by your local optician. This is a good choice if you already have a trusted optician, need special lens advice, or simply want to use the frame with lenses arranged locally.
Can I order complete prescription glasses?
Yes. You can order complete prescription glasses directly from PantoGlasses. Choose your frame, select prescription lenses, and enter or upload your prescription. You can choose from available lens types such as single vision, progressive, and selected sun lens options.
Can I order sunglasses without prescription?
Yes. You can order ready-to-wear non-prescription sunglasses from pantoglasses.com. Depending on the model, you can choose options such as polarized lenses, tinted lenses, gradient lenses, mirror lenses, or photochromic lenses.
Can I order prescription sunglasses?
Yes. You can order prescription sunglasses by choosing prescription lenses and selecting sun lens options. This lets you combine your vision correction with sun protection in one pair of glasses.
What is included in the basic frame price?
The basic frame price includes your selected PantoGlasses frame in the chosen model, size, and color. If you choose frames only, you receive the frame without prescription lenses, so your local optician can fit lenses later.
Are prescription lenses included in the price?
For standard single vision prescription glasses, clear 1.5 index lenses with HMC coating are included as the basic lens option where available. This means many customers can order complete everyday prescription glasses without needing a lens upgrade.
What lens coating is included with the basic prescription lens?
The basic clear single vision lens includes HMC coating. HMC usually includes anti-reflective and anti-scratch properties, helping the lenses look clearer and perform better for everyday use.
Which options cost extra?
Lens upgrades may cost extra depending on what you choose. This can include progressive lenses, bifocal lenses, thinner 1.6 index lenses, blue-cut options, photochromic lenses, polarized lenses, mirror lenses, and special coatings. The final price is shown before checkout.
Do you offer a first-order discount?
Yes. New customers can get 10% off their first order with a first-order coupon code. Enter the coupon code at checkout before placing your order, and the discount will be applied to eligible products.
Where do I enter the discount code?
You can enter your coupon code on the cart or checkout page. Make sure the discount is applied before completing your order. If the code does not work, check that it has been entered correctly and that your order meets the offer conditions.
Can I use the first-order discount on prescription glasses?
The first-order discount can be used on eligible products on pantoglasses.com. If your order includes prescription lenses, lens upgrades, or special add-ons, the final discount will be shown automatically at checkout after the coupon code is applied.
Do you have virtual try-on?
Yes. PantoGlasses offers Virtual Try-On so you can preview selected frames on your face before ordering. This helps you see the shape, style, and overall look of the glasses before choosing your frame. Please note that 3D try-on colors may differ slightly from the actual glasses because of screen settings, lighting, shadows, and digital rendering. For the most accurate frame color, please check the product photos and color name on the product page.
How does virtual try-on work?
Virtual Try-On lets you preview selected PantoGlasses frames using your device or uploaded image. It is a helpful visual guide when choosing a model, color, or size before placing your order.
What prescription information do I need?
For most prescription orders, you need SPH, CYL, AXIS, and PD. If you are ordering progressive or bifocal lenses, you may also need ADD and sometimes PH/pupil height. These values are usually written on your prescription from an optician or eye doctor.
Can I upload my prescription?
Yes. You can upload your prescription during the order process where this option is available. Please make sure the image or file is clear and readable. If your prescription includes ADD, PD, or other special values, make sure they are visible.
What is PD?
PD means pupillary distance. It is the distance between the centers of your pupils, measured in millimeters. PD helps place the lenses correctly in front of your eyes. It may be written as one number, such as 62 mm, or two numbers, such as 31/31 mm.
What is ADD in a prescription?
ADD is the additional power used for near vision. It is commonly needed for progressive, bifocal, or reading lenses. If your prescription has an ADD value, it usually means you need help with close-up vision as well as distance or everyday vision.
What are single vision lenses?
Single vision lenses correct one viewing distance, such as distance, computer, or reading. They are suitable for many everyday prescriptions and are often the right choice if your prescription does not include an ADD value.
What are progressive lenses?
Progressive lenses correct distance, intermediate, and near vision in one pair of glasses. They are commonly used when your prescription includes an ADD value and you want one pair of glasses for daily use, reading, screens, and distance.
What is the difference between single vision and progressive lenses?
Single vision lenses correct one viewing area only. Progressive lenses correct multiple viewing areas in one lens: distance, intermediate, and near. If you only need distance or reading correction, single vision may be enough. If you need both distance and reading support, progressive lenses may be better.
What lens index should I choose?
Lens index affects lens thickness. Standard 1.5 lenses are suitable for many prescriptions. If your prescription is stronger, 1.6 lenses can make the lenses thinner and lighter. Rimless glasses may require stronger lens material, so selected rimless models may need 1.6 index.
What is HMC coating?
HMC means hard multi-coating. It usually includes anti-reflective and anti-scratch properties, helping the lenses look clearer and perform better in daily use. HMC is a practical everyday coating for prescription glasses.
What is blue-cut?
Blue-cut lenses or coatings help reduce exposure to blue-violet light from screens and artificial lighting. This can be useful if you spend many hours using computers, phones, or tablets. Blue-cut may be available as a lens material or as a coating depending on the selected option.
What are photochromic lenses?
Photochromic lenses darken in sunlight and become clearer again indoors. They are a good choice if you want one pair of glasses that adapts between indoor and outdoor light conditions.
What are polarized lenses?
Polarized lenses reduce glare from reflective surfaces such as roads, water, snow, and glass. They are especially useful for driving, travel, outdoor activities, and bright conditions.
What are tinted and gradient lenses?
Tinted lenses have a full color shade across the lens. Gradient lenses are darker at the top and lighter toward the bottom. Tinted lenses are good for stronger sun protection and style, while gradient lenses are popular for driving, fashion, and everyday outdoor use.
How do I order from pantoglasses.com?
Choose your frame, select the size and color, then choose how you want to order: frames only, sunglasses, prescription glasses, or prescription sunglasses. For prescription orders, enter or upload your prescription, choose your lens options, add the product to cart, and complete checkout.
What if I do not know which lens option to choose?
Start with your prescription and how you plan to use the glasses. For simple everyday vision, single vision may be enough. If you have an ADD value and need distance and reading in one pair, progressive lenses may be the better option. You can contact us before ordering if you are unsure.
Can I order without prescription and add lenses later?
Yes. Choose frames only if you want your local optician to fit the lenses later. This is useful if you prefer local lens fitting, have a complex prescription, or want an optician to take final measurements in person.
Can I use the same frame for both clear glasses and sunglasses?
Yes. Many PantoGlasses frames can be used as clear glasses, sunglasses, prescription glasses, or prescription sunglasses. Availability depends on the model and lens options shown on the product page.
Do you offer 3-for-2?
Yes. PantoGlasses offers 3 pairs for the price of 2. Add three eligible pairs to your cart, and the third pair’s frame price will automatically become free at checkout. This is a great option if you want one pair for daily use, one pair as sunglasses, and one spare pair.
How do I choose the right frame size?
Check the size guide on each product page. Frame size usually includes lens width, bridge width, and temple length. If you already own glasses that fit well, compare those measurements with the PantoGlasses frame size before ordering. For many adult customers, size 47 is our most balanced “one-size-fits-most” option, but the best size still depends on your face width, bridge fit, and personal style preference.
What does lens width mean?
Lens width is the horizontal width of one lens, measured in millimeters. A smaller lens width usually fits narrower faces, while a larger lens width gives a wider fit. For many models, the middle size gives the most balanced fit.
What does bridge size mean?
Bridge size is the distance between the lenses where the frame sits on your nose. A good bridge fit helps the glasses stay comfortable and stable. If the bridge is too wide, the frame may slide down. If it is too narrow, it may feel tight.
What does temple length mean?
Temple length is the length of the arms of the glasses. Standard temples sit behind the ears, while curled temples wrap more securely around the ears. Curled temples can be useful for kids, active use, or customers who prefer a secure fit.
Can my local optician adjust the frame?
Yes. Most opticians can make small adjustments to improve the fit. This may include adjusting nose pads, temples, or temple tips. For the best result, ask an experienced optician to adjust the frame carefully.
Where do you ship?
PantoGlasses ships internationally. Available countries and shipping options are shown at checkout. Orders are shipped safely with tracking once they are ready for dispatch.
How long does delivery take?
Delivery time depends on your country and the type of order. Frames-only and ready-to-wear sunglasses may be faster, while prescription glasses can require extra preparation time before shipping. Tracking details are sent when the order is dispatched.
Do you offer free shipping?
Yes. PantoGlasses offers free shipping on eligible orders over €98. The free shipping option will be shown at checkout when your order qualifies.
Do I need to pay customs or import fees?
PantoGlasses aims to make international ordering simple. For B2C orders, duties and taxes are handled so customers do not receive unexpected customs charges on delivery where this service is available. The final checkout will show the available shipping and payment options for your destination.
Is VAT included?
Prices on pantoglasses.com are shown for retail customers. VAT and tax handling are included where applicable based on your delivery country and checkout setup. The final order summary will show your total before you place the order.
What payment methods are available?
Available payment methods are shown at checkout. Depending on your country, options may include card payment, PayPal, or other available payment methods.
Can I return my glasses?
Return options depend on the product type. Frames-only and standard items may have different return conditions than customized prescription lenses. Prescription lenses are made specifically for your order, so please check the return policy before purchasing.
Can I return prescription glasses?
Prescription glasses are customized for your personal prescription and lens choices, so they may not be returnable in the same way as standard products. Please check all prescription values carefully before placing your order.
How can I contact PantoGlasses?
You can contact PantoGlasses through the contact options on pantoglasses.com. For order questions, include your order number. For prescription questions, include your prescription details and the lens option you selected.
How should I clean my glasses?
Use a microfiber cloth and lens-safe cleaning spray. Avoid paper towels, clothing, or harsh chemicals, as they can scratch lenses or damage coatings. If there is dust or dirt on the lenses, rinse it away before wiping.
